17ਵੀ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਰਾਇ
Sujan Rai Bhandari of Batala wrote a text book of history in Persian in the year 1697. Interestingly he has written 2-3 paras on Sikhism. It is important because he is a contemporary of Guru sahiban. Read what he writes about Sikhs:-
The followers of Baba Nanak are worshippers of one God. Regular in their prayers, they are followers in real sense of the word. Their prayer means they sing gurbani of their Guru in melodious tunes. They have no jealousy for others. They are not too much attached or in love with this world, though they live in family life. They equally treat relatives and others and have mercy on their enemies. They have boundless faith in their Guru and such a faith is not seen in other religions. Serving their own and others in the name of Guru is their worship. They serve to their best even to a stranger may be thief or robber who comes to their house in the dead of night and seeks shelter in the name of their guru.
