Subject: IMTD: Letter from Ambassador John McDonlad to Mr. Anudeep
Singh Madan: Kartarpur Corridor
To:

jmcdonald@imtd.org
Dear Mr. Anudeep Singh Madan,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to you to inform you of the
progress the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy and Ambassador John
McDonald has made in regards to the Kartarpur Corridor Project we
have initiated.
Last weekend the Ambassador and I met with Mr. Rajwant Singh, the
chairman of SCORE, a Sikh-based organization here, in Washington DC.
Our meeting was a great success and we are delighted at the
enthusiasm and initiative Mr. Rajwant Singh has taken in regards to
the project. He additionally invited the Ambassador to be a speaker
at the 2008 Sikh Convention in Maryland. (I will email you a link of
the speech later today.)
As observed the project is gaining momentum and we are moving
forward with the intended objective. We are currently preparing a
proposal that urges the
creation of the Kartarpur Corridor, reparation of the Ravi Bridge,
and initiation businesses along the Kartarpur route to be created in
three years. The project itself will be sectioned into four
phases. The initial phase will be gathering qualified individuals
that we will raise money to fly to Washington DC to design a plan
for the Kartarpur Corridor. The professionals needed must be the
following: a) engineer;
b) urban planner;
c) architect; and
d) businessman. The final
participant we have identified will be Mr. Jatehdar Kuldip Singh. In
total there will be five participants (including Mr. Jathedar Kuldip
Singh) from India and four participants from Pakistan.
The Ambassador kindly asks for
your participation in the 2008 Washington DC: Planning and Design
meetings for the Kartarpur Corridor as the business professional
representative. Your insight and influence will be of great
importance to the success of the project.
We were also hoping that you could help us in identifying
individuals within the Sikh community who are interested and
willing to commit to the Kartarpur Corridor Project. We are
currently searching for Sikh individuals from both, Pakistan and
India. Any information, contacts, or guidance would be greatly
appreciated! We are still trying to identify an engineer, urban
planner, and architect.
Thank you for your help. I am looking forward to
your correspondence.
Most Sincerely,
Maria Jan
